1. T-Shirt Robot
—————————————————————-
This Friday was a very successful day for the Robolions! Dr. Tashlein shot not once, but three times! The robot was incredible impressive and a great tribute. The completion of this robot is the pathway to many more future PAID events! It’s great to see how all of the hard work and dedication from the summer has paid off, not only as a learning experience, but also as a way to promote the team at future events and competitions.
2. VEX
—————————————————————-
The VEX Competition is only 18 days away! This is VERY soon!!! All robots should be completely build by now, as well as programmed. We have built a practice field in the Cave so that our members have an opportunity to see what the fireld will be like and test how well all elements of their robot work. Additionally, we will need set-up volunteers, as well as people to make buttons, people for queuing, commentators, and people to help with the field break-down after the event. We also still need parent volunteers!! This would be much appreciated; if your parents are interested in volunteering, please have them email Mrs. Rutland atmary_rutland@gwinnett.k12.ga.us.
3. Programmers
—————————————————————-
If you are a programmer, Jason has received your quiz; nobody failed, congratulations! Programming meetings will continue on Thursdays in Coach Lumpkin’s room. This week programmers will be learning Java.
4. Electrical Meeting
—————————————————————-
If you are interested in attending the electrical meeting, please come! The meeting will be this Thursday, November 7th at 5:15; it will be on battery safety. On of our mentors and a parent of one our students will be teaching; Mr. Webb. If you would like additional information, please contact Andy Bare at andy@prhsrobotics.com

The robot was shown to him Friday evening at 6 PM, and was publicly unveiled at the football game! The spectators at the game screamed and cheered for a t-shirt to be fired at them, while others simply marveled at the creation; this truly shows the value of our many months of hard work and dedication.

GRITS:

In only 11 days, Saturday, October 5th, we will be attending the Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase (GRITS) at the World Congress Center in Downtown Atlanta.

GRITS is a showcase event in which Georgia robotics teams compete and play the previous year’s FRC game. This will be a fun and exciting opportunity for new members to get a taste of what the second semester of robotics is like. It’s a lot of fun and gives new members a feel of the excitement and fun!

Car Wash:

The PRHS Robotics team is planning a car wash TOMORROW at the Walgreens
located near the intersection of Meadow Church and Sugarloaf Pkwy to help raise funds. The team has a great reputation in the community for working hard and doing an EXCELLENT job cleaning the inside and out of cars, trucks etc!

VEX:

VEX season is on its way, and the Qualifier is not far from being right around the corner.

Teams have been working hard; all teams have completed their chasis and are now working on the offensive and defensive aspects of their robots. Also, teams have been working hard in keeping up with their engineering notebooks.

Learning Electrical Aspects:

Lessons about the electrical components of our robots-Soldering, Battery Safety, Wiring, cables, Power Consumption  & Thermal Consideration lessons starting Wed 10/2

On Wednesday, September 25th, 2013, select members attended NRC, displaying our FRC Robot to business owners in the community. This was a unique opportunity that the Robolions were given to get out into the community and build relations.

We are attending the football game tonight displaying our FRC Robot as well as selling homemade earrings (brightly colored robots) and bracelets (made of twine and hex nuts)
